Scale back if you’re on an extreme budget. Here are some tips for decorating for Christmas on a budget with affordable decorations from Wayfair:

Evergreen Garlands

Wayfair sells many affordable evergreen garlands made of faux pine, cedar, and fir branches that are wired together into festive green garlands. Adorn fireplace mantles, staircases, and doorways to spread holiday aroma and charm all season long. I added this pre-lit green pinecone garland to my bedroom headboard upstairs!

Throw Pillows

Cheerful Christmas motifs are often woven onto cozy accent pillows that you can use to embellish a sofa or a bed. Some have pom poms or button details for whimsical holiday flair. I fell in love with this looped cotton throw pillow with a simple green tree motif and placed it centrally on my bed to decorate for Christmas. It fit right into my decorating budget!

Christmas Blankets

Wayfair sells many beautiful red and green holiday fleece blankets to keep you warm all season long. These can be purchased for less than $100. Drape the Christmas blankets over furniture when company is expected to instantly infuse holiday spirit. Or, add a blanket to the end of your bed like I did for a pop of holiday red. Small Christmas Trees

Set sparkling mini Christmas trees on side tables, desks, nightstands and shelves to scatter seasonal cheer in multiple rooms. You can embellish them with handmade felt gingerbread men or tiny glass ornaments for custom holiday trees. This little tree was the perfect addition to my bedside table!

Christmas Mugs

Fill classic Christmas mugs with candy canes or peppermint sticks for festive sipping. Arrange on a tray with cinnamon sticks and pine sprigs for an inviting holiday display. I went with this vintage Santa ceramic mug and will happily drink my morning coffee in it all December long!

String Lights

Use strings of white lights liberally. White mini lights add sparkle and warmth anywhere you put them without much cost. Outline windows, wrap columns and bannisters, place in vases and jars, string across mantles, etc!

When decorating for Christmas, stick to a color scheme or particular style. Having a consistent color theme throughout your decor makes everything look cohesive, even if the decorations are inexpensive. Red, green, white, and natural wood tones work well.

When it comes to decorating for Christmas on a budget, use what you already have and fill in the gaps with Wayfair’s awesome Cyber Week deals. Go through your holiday decorations and see what you can reuse from previous years. Supplement with a few inexpensive new items from the Wayfair product catalog.

You can also opt to make your own Christmas decorations. Get crafty with homemade salt dough ornaments, pine cone garlands, paper snowflakes, etc. There are tons of DIY Christmas decoration tutorials that are inexpensive and add a personal touch.

Look for secondhand items. Check out post-holiday estate sales, thrift stores, yard sales, etc. You can often find great decorations at steep discounts. Just make sure anything previously used is still in good condition!

I hope these give you some good ideas to decorate festively this season without going over budget! Wayfair is a great resource for finding high quality yet affordable Christmas decorations that fit your budget.
