If interiors are a reflection of personality, then the colorful bungalow of Merrilee McGehee must say a lot of good things about the Austin designer! Her space is chock full of color at every turn – from the soft pink walls in the kitchen, to the striped walls of the dining room. One bedroom features a bright red Jenny Lind headboard atop a purple overdyed rug. While it’s easy to overwhelm a space with too much color, I think McGehee’s choices work well with the space because she does balance the rooms out with neutrals like white or silver in certain places. If I had one critique of the space, I’d say that I’m not a fan of endless book shelves, as seen in her living room. I think it makes the space look a little to busy for my liking, but otherwise, everything is really nicely curated!
